Born in Torrance, California, [on June 19th, 1970] Brian "Head" Welch is obviously a 29 year old man. He is one of the two guitarists for the band Korn, and also does backing vocals. Fellow band member, Fieldy (Reggie A.) has called him, "The highest talent in the band."
He started playing guitar at age 10, and at age 15, Brian and Fieldy, -who were good friends of course- entertained themselves with guitar. Brian would should Fieldy bits. Later, Munky (James. S) came into the picture.

"he's the highest talent in the band" -fieldy

"I know this guy from school..." Brian invited Munky to join them.
"It wasn't even that I could play or not," says Munky "It was that I had long hair." Once together, all three decided they needed a drummer.
It was then that David came on to the scene.
"He was so young..."
"He was good man."
One night at a bar in Bakersfield, a band was playing, which Brian and James noticed right away; the singer. "We heard him sing and we turned to each other... just... our jaws just dropped."
Brian suggested calling the singer, (Jonathan "HIV" D.) who didn't want to take part with them, but a psychic advised him otherwise.

korn

"there isn't one thing in korn that sounds like anybody. they're themselves... to me, that's.. god" -ross robinson, producer, korn, life is peachy.

Head's nickname origin?
how'd you get your name, head?
'cause i got a big head.
no ya don't, man.
yes i do! go get me any hat, and it won't fit. except this one, 'cause it's stretchy. tugs on his hat

"We got Brian in the band and all he did was just hang out and drink our beer." He likes Bud Light a lot.

For his birthday awhile back, Brian sang "Lowrider" on the Life Is Peachy album. Listen close and you can hear him giggle.

When something happens to one of the five, it also effects others emotionally. The whole band agrees that when Jon sings, he sings from the soul. He feels his lyrics when he sings, and so do they. "My favourite singer in the whole world is in my band," says Brian.

Brian and his wife, Rebekkah, gave birth to their daughter, Jennea Marie on July 6th, 1998. Korn, at this time, was supposed to do OzzFest in Europe, but dropped out. Brian did not want to leave his wife during this time and travel overseas. The rest of the band did not want a replacement guitarist.
The band's four albums are Korn, Life is Peachy, Follow the Leader, and Issues. More to come on this soon, but for now, this is all.
